LOCAL BUSES

The local bus stops right in front of our gate every 15 minutes. The bus will take you very quickly into Alajuela centre for only 205 Colones ($0.50). From Aajuela centre, you can also take the bus into San Jose for $1 per person. The bus service is excellent, fun and safe!

TO & FROM THE SJO AIRPORT BY TAXI

Official airport taxis are parked outside arrivals 24/7. These are orange colour taxis from a company called Taxis Unidos. The service is reasonably priced and very safe, professional and esay to use. To go back to the airport, at any time of the day or night, our trusted taxi driver can offer you this service that can be booked at check-out directly at the hotel. Our trusted taxi driver charges local rate so no extra charges.

Be aware that taxi drivers may try to take you to another hotel that the one you booked to earn a commission by providing you with incorrect information about Hotel Villa Dolce, or any hotel where you plan to stay. If you experience any problems of this nature, please phone us and talk to us directly. Taxi drivers may offer to make the call for you and tell you we are not anwering, so ensure you talk to us. We recommend you have with you full address and phone number of the hotels where you plan to stay, including Villa Dolce.

FROM THE SJO AIRPORT BY CAR

Exit the airport heading NORTH in the direction of Puntarenas/San Ramon (away from San Jose) and drive down the Pan-American highway. After approximately 4Km, you will see the large Dos Pinos factory on your left. If you see the Dos Pinos you know you are doing well - keep going! Keep driving for 2 more Km until you get to a bridge (also called puente de la Revision Tecnica). Do not get on the bridge - take the first exit on the right immediately after this bridge. Before getting to the bridge, you will see the yellow sign of our hotel on the right and also a road sign indicating “EL COYOL”. Follow the street of the Coyol for about 800Mts. As reference, on your left, on the curve, you will see a bar called Bar el Mango. You will see the hotel entrance clearly marked on the right side.

TO VILLA DOLCE FROM GUANACASTE, OROTINA, ETC. - NEW HIGHWAY 27

Coming from the North, take the Turrucares or Atenas exit. Then, drive in the direction of the SJO airport. We are located 6Km before arriving to the airport. At one point, on the right side you will see large, white cemen Recope petrol tanks - If you see them you know you doing well, keep going! After the Recope tanks, you will see a bridge. Take the first exit on the right just before the bridge - indicating “Coyol” and “Revision Tecnica”. Get on the bridge to cross the highway, as we are on the other side. From where you get off the bridge, keep following the road (keeping right) for 800Mts. As reference, on your left, you will see a bar on the curve called Bar el Mango. You will see the hotel entrance clearly marked on the right side.
