• About Alajuela...
Founded in 1782, and also called the city of mangoes, Alajuela is the second
largest city in Costa Rica, just 25 Km away from the capital city of San José. The city maintains a rural character with nearby coffee and sugar cane
plantations.
If you wish to stay with us for a few days to relax and get to know the

places to see! We can also provide free advice on how to enjoy your day
spending little money.
Please note that if you wish to join an organized tour, you need to book in
advance as all start early in the morning.

Poás Volcano National Park
A unique place just 45 minutes away from Hotel Villa Dolce. Not to be missed!
Walk in the national park to appreciate the Volcano and the lagoon. On you way,
you can go for the interesting Doka Coffee Tour. It is possible to visit Poás by bus, taxi, car or organized tour. Open daily 8am to 3:30pm. We recommend you visit in the morning. Indipendent
entrance to the park $10 per person (adults).
Doka Coffee Tour. A “must” in Costa Rica!
Doka is an award winning coffee producer. Guided by an expert, visitors will
receive extensive information, which will make this coffee tour an incomparable
experience.
The price includes; entry to the Doka estate, guide, entry to the butterfly
farm, visit to a sugar cane plantation and chocolate, coffee and liquors tasting. Tour starting
time: Mon. to Friday 9am, 10am, 11am, 1:30pm, 2:30pm and 3:30pm. Sat. & Sun. last tour 2:30pm. Entrance $20 per person. Kids up to 12 years old $10.
Buffet lunch $9 per person.
Amazing Zoo Ave!
Ideal for the little ones but not only.... An extensive park, zoo, conservation
and rescue centre for wild animals. At Zoo Ave, you will be able to see so many
species of birds and monkeys – a boa snake, turtles and much more… There are many good, typical Costa Rican restaurants in the area, so why not
take the opportunity to enjoy some local food.

San José City Tour
For an incredible price, this tour immerses you in the rich Costa Rican culture
and history by experiencing the beautiful museums and historical sites of the
capital city San José; the Sabana Park, tour of the historic National Theatre (a masterpiece in art
and architecture) and entry to the Central Bank’s Gold Museum, where it is possible to appreciate nearly 2,000 artifacts dating
from Pre-Columbian times up to 1500. 8am or 1pm - duration: 5 hours - includes guide, transportation and lunch - $37
per person.
Irazu Volcano, Orosi Valley and Lankaster Garden
With this excursion you will see an impressive volcano, visit important
historical and cultural places in our country and also will have the

White Water Rafting
Experience the thrill of white water rafting! The scenery while rafting is
marvelous. The equipment will be given, and a specialized guide will instruct
you on how to manage yourself into the strong currents of the river. Rates
depending on level.
Canopy Tour
Canopy San Lorenzo is located in the middle of the tropical forest reserve in a
beautiful area full of orchids, bromeliads and other ornamental plants. The
total length of the cable is of 2500 meters or 8.202,10 ft. There are 19
platforms and the San Lorenzo Canopy offers a 750-meter or 2.460,63 feet cable,
the longest one in the country. Starting from $85 per person.
Tortuga Island Cruise
Particularly enchanting for its beauty, Tortuga Island is known for its
immaculate white sand beach and turquoise waters, a perfect stop for swimming,
snorkeling. It is a lovely day out. Rates starting at $109 per person all included.
Shopping
Get to know the city of Alajuela, visit the market and enjoy some local food.
Alajuela is also the perfect spot for some last minute shopping, to catch a
movieat the mall (in English!). There is a mall close by called Mall
Internacional.
